NOTICE OF CLOSEOUT PUBLIC HEARING
FOR MICHIGAN COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT (CDBG)
FUNDING FOR THE WATER RELATED INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT
PLEASE TAKE NOTICE that the Reading City Council will hold a public hearing at its
regular meeting scheduled for:
Date: September 8, 2026
Time: 6:30 pm
Location: Reading City Hall, Council Chambers, 113 S. Main Street, Reading, MI 49274
The City of Reading will conduct a closeout public hearing at 6:30 PM on September 8, 2026
during the Regular City Council Meeting at 113 S Main Street, Reading, MI for the purpose of
affording citizens an opportunity to submit comments and receive a final report on the
completion of the CDBG Water Related Infrastructure Project.
The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) provided funding to assist in
improvements to the Water Related Infrastructure of the Michigan, East, Lynn, and Strong
(MELS) project. The CDBG project benefited at least 51% low to moderate income persons;
Zero persons were displaced as a result of the project.
The public is invited and encouraged to attend this public hearing. If you are unable to attend,
but wish to have your comments recognized, you may do so in writing by mailing or delivering
them to the Reading City Clerk, 113 S. Main Street, PO Box 240, Reading, MI 49274, or by
emailing kym@reading.mi.us. To be recognized, any written comments must be received by the
City Clerk/Treasurer no later than 4:00 pm, Tuesday, September 8, 2026.
