DPW Update: Potholing Project

The City of Reading recently has contracted with Parrish Excavating to perform potholing in the City for Residential Water Service Line Inspections to be able to identify what type of material each service line is, both going from the watermain to the curb stop as well as curb stop towards the home.

This required a vacuumed hole on both sides of the curb-stop creating holes that were later filled with sand.  Due to the heavy rain events this past few weeks this has caused many holes to sink and cave.  

Parrish Excavating is planning on coming back after they have completed the potholing process and will visit each property and make sure that the holes are filled and place topsoil and grass seed at each location that was disturbed.
