City of Reading Fall Leaf Collection (Starts Monday, October 24th)

The Reading Department of Public Works will be collection leaves from all city streets. Please reference the chart below for collection days and please use the following guidelines. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated and is essential for the lead collection process to be successful. Residents may rake loose leaves to the curb, no more than 4 to 5 feet from the road shoulder and should be places away from trees, street signs, power poles, mailboxes, or any object that would make it difficult for the equipment operator to pick up at your location.

Loose leaves should be placed at the curb no later than the evening before the collection date. Do not place leaves in the street, as this may cause blockage and/or other problems with the storm sewer system.

Please separate brush and twigs from the leaves since they can cause damage to the leaf vacuum. After October 17^th Yard Waste Collection, all brush and limbs, branches, twigs, etc. will need to be taken to the Yard Waste Pit at the Department of Public Works at 180 W. Lincoln.

No bagged leaves will be collected after October 17, 2022. Any material bagged after the October 17, 2022 Yard Waste Collection will need to be taken to the Department of Public Works located at 180 W. Lincoln St. and placed in an orderly fashion in the designated yard waste containment area.

All scheduled pickup dates are weather permitting. In the event of a delay in the pickup schedule due to weather, please watch for a notice on the City’s Facebook Page or listen on WCSR.

Please refrain from parking in the street on collection days.

The Public Works Department has the right to refuse pick-up of any leaves that do not meet the requirements as stated above.

The Public Works Department reserves the right to cancel and/or add collection dates as they deem necessary.
