The current issue occured due to a device communication error that has been resolved and fixed. Our next course of action is to pull water samples tomorrow morning. Until then, the City is still under a boil water advisory for precautionary purposes. We plan to have everything running normally by Thursday. Please keep an eye out on the website and our Facebook page for updates as well as listen to the radio. We thank you for your cooperation. 

UPDATE FROM CITY OF READING DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS: Oct. 6 2021

As of October 6th, the Boil Water Advisory has been lifted after water samples sent to the state came back negative for any dangerous contamanents after the device communication error occured.

If you did not recieve a robo call on October 4th or October 6th, please feel free to email your name and number to office@reading.mi.us so we can add you to our system.

This report is designed to keep you informed about the quality water and services we have delivered to you over the past year. Our goal is, and always has been, to provide to you a safe and dependable supply of drinking water. Our water source is from 2 wells located in the Reading Wellhead protection zone which was initiated to protect our ground water supply.
