GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
 
A General Municipal election will be held in the City of Reading on Tuesday, November 6, 2018 to elect one person to be Mayor and two people to the Office of Councilor. The person elected to be Mayor shall serve a two-year term beginning at noon on January 1, 2019 and expiring at noon on January 1, 2021 and the two people elected to the Office of Councilor shall serve four-year terms beginning at noon on January 1, 2019 and expiring at noon on January 1, 2023.
 
A person seeking to qualify, as a candidate for any elective office shall file with the Clerk/Treasurer a properly completed “Nominating Petition” on a form secured from the office of the Clerk/Treasurer. The “Nominating Petition” shall include the signatures of at least fifteen, but no more than twenty-five registered electors of the City of Reading. 
 
Each candidate for Elective Office shall file with his or her petition an AFFIDAVIT OF IDENTITY AND RECEIPT OF FILING as provided by State Law. The affidavit shall included the name, address, number of years the candidate has been a resident of the State, County, and City and other information required by State Law. All non-incumbents are required to file a STATEMENT OF ORGANIZATION FOR CANDIDATE COMMITTEE.
 
Petitions must be returned to City Hall by 4:00 P.M. on/or before

Tuesday, August 7, 2018.
